NEBS
Certification
Electro Magnetic Test
can be your NEBS certification provider. Our engineers and facilities are dedicated
to provide you with One-Stop-Shop NEBS testing and certification. From
product safety, EMC/EMI, environmental and physical protection testing that
goes into NEBS certification, we can do it all!
Who needs NEBS testing and Certification?
NEBS testing is required for vendors who wish to sell
equipment to any Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCS) and Competitive
Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC). We have developed NRTL relationships to
ensure that you have all the right organizations on your side. Most of all,
we have all of the capabilities to perform NEBS Level 1, 2, 3 or 4
requirements to GR-63-CORE for Physical Protection Standards and
GR-1089-CORE for EMC, Surge & Electrical Safety Standards.
Our NEBS Services include:

Reliability Testing
Reliability
tests are statistically based sample tests performed to verify a specific
reliability level that has been achieved. The testing is performed in a
controlled test environment over a specific time. The testing provides
acceleration factors that are used to estimate the MTTF and/or MTBF of a
product.
EMT
Labs provides companies with high-quality accelerated environmental testing
and reliability services, a true alternative to traditional design
qualification. We strive to exposure talent defects during both the design
and manufacturing process in a short period of time.
By
offering a high level of practical experience, industry know how, and
confidentiality; we help companies evaluate and improve new product designs
and manufacturing processes.
EMT
Labs is committed to the advancement of Accelerated Stress Testing through
research and experimentation. Customer service is our top priority. We
pride ourselves in going above and beyond customer expectations.
Reliability Prediction Service (MTBF Calculations)
The
reliability prediction details the failure rates for each part and
sub-assembly in a system and shows the Main Time Between Failure (MTBF) of
the entire system with a Pareto chart clearly showing the highest failure
rate items of the system.
The
reliability prediction can be performed either using Telcordia
SR-332 or MIL-HDBK-217 as references. The Analysis can either be performed
assuming nominal stresses (nominal power/ voltage/temperature), or a more
detailed failure rate prediction can be performed given known specific
stresses.

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
FMEA
is a method used to identify potential failure modes and asses the risk associated
with those failure modes. Each failure mode is then ranked in terms of
importance and corrective actions are taken to address the most serious
concerns. Failure effects can be considered at both the sub-system and
system level of operation.
Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Fault
tree analysis is a reliability/safety design analysis technique using the
concept of logic gates to determine the overall reliability of the system.
The FTA first considers "Top Events" or system failure effects,
and then determines the logic of events that lead to the undesirable
outcome. The fault free reveals the causes of an undesired event so
improvements can be made to increase system reliability.
Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT )
An
effective tool using cold temperature, hot temperature, thermal transistor,
and random vibration to expose talent defects and weak links during the
products design phase. By eliminating failure mechanisms found during the
HALT process, the product reliability is improved in a short period of
time.
HALT
is using high levels of stress exposes in a few days the same failure modes
that are likely to occur under normal stress conditions, over an extended
period of time.

Highly
Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) (E.S.S)
HASS is a screening process
utilizing rapid thermal transitions and random vibration to expose process
related variations in manufacturing. HASS is used to monitor the outgoing
quality of a product.
Thermal
Testing
Heat sensitive or excessive temperatures
are often the main cause of failure in most types of equipment. Temperature
testing is used to determine the thermal limits of operation of units that
cause early life failures. The test is to verify internal cooling and
heating design parameters.
EMT Labs provides thermal
testing of Boards, Cards, Heat Sinks, natural and forced convection, Fan
and Fan performance, ASIC components, Caps, Electronics/Telecommunications,
etc…
